One of the key ways to keep your lawn healthy is by regular mowing. You might think of mowing as a chore that can be delayed until the grass gets so long that you are embarrassed into mowing it again. The chances are that you will set your mower to the lowest possible cut so you get the most from your effort. You might think that you don’t need to cut it again for a month. If this is you, think again!
By cutting too much height at once, you will shock the grass. While you feel good that the grass is now much shorter than it was, the weakened grass is now more prone to weeds and other undesirables such as moss, pearlwort and daisies. In the long run this takes more work to sort out.
The rule is to mow often, but not too closely.
After mowing the lawn we will trim the edges of the grass, and pick up the cuttings from the borders.
Whether you want your lawn cut weekly (as recommended in summer) or less frequently, Muddy Boots can offer a service tailored to your needs. We are also happy to provide a “one-off” cut for times such as when you’re away on holiday and don’t want to return to an unsightly, overgrown lawn.
